Proof Louisville FC continue NWSL preparations with O’Connor hire

James O’Connor has been hired by Soccer Holdings LLC, the ownership group of Louisville City FC, to develop new NWSL franchise.

Louisville, USA (January 13, 2020) – James O’Connor has been hired by Soccer Holdings LLC, the ownership club of future NWSL franchise Proof Louisville FC and current USL Championship club Louisville City FC, as their new Executive Vice President of Development.

Under his new position, O’Connor will be responsible for developing the Proof franchise “from the group up into a top-level club.” The Proof is currently expected to join the NWSL next year, for the 2021 season. As part of the Irishman’s NWSL tasks, he will be required to create the organizational structure of the Proof. This includes the hiring of staff members for their 2021 season.

O’Connor will also be in charge of building Louisville’s new academy and their development USL 2 team. This will not be the first time O’Connor has worked for the Louisville City FC operations. From 2015-18 he acted as a coach with the club before moving on as a coach with Orlando City from 2018-19.
